This isn't going to be one of those posts related to my life, work, or anything I've seen, read, or watched. Honestly, I didn't think during the 7 years where I would sporadically make posts to this blog, I'd actually would actually see anything evolve. It was mostly a place for me to go to to write out random thoughts and I did try experimenting with reviews etc. I even had plans to start some Yu-Gi-Oh! and Bleach fan sites and sort of revive it here on Dreamwidth.

Long story short, I never got around to posting thoughts on my fan fiction stories or even became super active on any of communities I had joined. I guess, Dreamwidth was supposed to take off as a Live Journal-like website, but for some reason it didn't really "take-off" like Tumblr did. These days as I mentioned in the title, Social Media is such as drain. A brain drain, an energy drain, emotional drain, you name it, it'll drain ya.

I'm mostly making this post partly inspired by Kneon of Clownfish TV on YouTube. He recently made a post about returning to the days of web blogging because as he says it, "Twitter Sucks". For the most part, I agree with him. Twitter compared to back in the days of 2010-2011, sucks so much. Back then, when I used it, I just followed a bunch of UK bands and ran fan pages, fan sites for a band called FranKo. My entire Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr profiles were just filled with rock bank and UK related things. I hardly ever saw politics and from what I remember people just posted little tidbits about life.

Once FranKo had broken up and gone their separated ways in 2013, I "rejoined" Tumblr and got myself back into the Disney fandom. At first, it was seeing others with like minded interests, but little did I know that in the coming years, I somehow managed to both witness and avoid the whole cesspool of the Tumblr crowd. I am talking about the pronouns, blacklists, warnings, and this whole "foreign language" that seemed to be spoken by Tumblr users. I mean, I could go all day and talk about the things I saw, but overall I just kept to myself and just enjoyed my own fandoms.

Sure I won't deny that there were moments where I let certain things on the Internet  get to me, but I did get over it and moved on after while. The longer I spend time on any Social Media website, the more I just want to get away. Back then, I didn't want to go away because, I didn't keep in touch with old friends that much and I was just busy with work and university. Tumblr, Twitter, and all of those websites was like an escape for me.

After spending years living on my own, going to therapy, getting married, and experiencing the many things life has thrown at me, being chronically online be it via my cellphone or computer isn't healthy. I am trying my hardest right overcome my cellphone addiction and it's not easy. Times gets wasted and I never use it to clean up my house or even improve my doodling skills.

Well, I'm just rambling. If anyone every comes across this blog post, feel free to reach Kneon's recent blog post here. It's a very interesting read. Have a good one!
